Our Mission Statement: 

Our members come from many different cultural backgrounds that span the entire world. THey come to our club with a variety of professions and talents. Despite our different endeavors and interests, we are all here to improve our public speaking and listening skills, and more importantly, our self confidence. Our club consists of members with various levels of public speaking skills and experience. Amid our friendly and supportive club atmosphere, we all have something to learn from each other.

History of Metro Speakers: 

Metro Speakers Toastmasters is a community club based in Burnaby, B.C. Since its charter in 1980, the club has helped hundreds of men and women develop effective communication and leadership skills. The club meets in a spacious and bright room, which is conveniently located on the 4th level of Metropolis at Metrotown shopping mall. Members have full access to the club’s audio-visual equipment to assist in their speeches and presentations.  With a friendly and supportive atmosphere, the club gives members an opportunity to gain confidence while developing public speaking skills at the same time. Recognized as a Select Distinguished Club by Toastmasters International, Metro Speakers is true to its mission by providing an environment which fosters self-confidence and personal growth.

Awards: 
Metro Speakers banner is full of awards, ribbons, and achievements that we have accomplished throughout the 26 years of our clubs history. We have consistently recognized as one of the best clubs in British Columbia . We have won the coveted status of President's Distinguished Club twice in the past three years. We have also produced best speaker in our area (Area 82) and division (Division J) for three years in a row. This means that we help many of our members reach their goals. Our club has demonstrated strong membership growth, outstanding educational program and excellent club standards.
